Southwest Cafe Sunset 5k Raises $3,000!
Southwest Cafe's second annual sunset 5k raised $3,000 for Sunrise Cottage. The 5k was held under beautiful conditions on Saturday evening, August 9. The winning times for the fast and flat USATF-certified 5k course were 15:47 for men and 20:36 for women. A post-race party included refreshments, raffle prizes and music by Benoir and friends of New York City. The Southwest Cafe is owned and operated by Wolfpit's very own Barbra Nevins. Barbra hopes that the 5k race continues to be an annual event. Barbra thanks everyone who ran and volunteered to help raise money for the Sunrise Cottage, which provides residential care services for people with developmental disablities.
